Macodes petola (Blume) Lindl. Was first described by C.L. Blume as Neottia petola in the year 1825 based on the binomial system for naming Rumphius' Folium petolatum '.
This plant is the Family Orchidaceae, with the name of the genus Macodes. Genus of macodes there are seven species that spread from Malaysia, Indonesia, New Guinea and Vanuatu. This plant is found in altitude from 100 to 800 meters above sea level, rain forest area partly closed shade trees and plants grow on the former or the wet humus and soil with good drainage.
